Meet Thomas Eun: Leading with Purpose in Australia & New Zealand
From his first sales calls at age 12, helping his father find new office cleaning clients, to leading SK tes operations across Australia and New Zealand, Thomas Eun’s career has been shaped by drive, adaptability and people-first leadership.

Over the years, Thomas has sold just about everything: sportswear, life insurance, advertising, software, and now, sustainability. His path has taken him through both small enterprises and large organisations, with each role adding to his leadership toolkit.
A Leap Into IT Sustainability
A year ago, a meeting with Terence Ng, Sharon Selwood and Nic Colyer at SK tes’ Sydney office opened Thomas’ eyes to one of the fastest-growing environmental challenges in the world: e-waste. After some “professional consultation” from his two children, aged 10 and 8, who decided their dad should “save the world from e-waste”, Thomas made the leap into IT asset disposition (ITAD) and circular economy solutions.
“It’s a mission I want to dedicate the rest of my career to,” he says.
What Drives Him at SK tes
For Thomas, it comes down to two things:
-
Purpose — “Every day, I’m contributing to our mission to securely, safely and sustainably transform and re-purpose 1 billion kg of assets by 2030.”
-
People — “I have the privilege and responsibility of leading 161 team members to reach their full potential.”
Growth Through Support
Stepping into the General Manager role within just a year of joining is, in Thomas’ words, “a true testament to the support and coaching from my leaders and peers.” SK tes’ global network has given him both the confidence and resources to navigate the challenges of leading in a new industry.

Facing the Challenges of Leadership
Being new to the industry means a steeper learning curve but Thomas says he’s never felt alone. “I have experienced, passionate leaders who mentor me. Every hour brings a new challenge, but I always have the backing of a global team.”
Balancing Work and Life
While a GM role keeps the mind in work mode, Thomas credits his colleagues and his children for teaching him when to switch off. “The moment I get home, my kids make sure I’m back in ‘life mode’.”
Most Rewarding Moments
Attending the T7 Leadership Summit in Fredericksburg, USA, stands out as a career highlight, offering the chance to connect with leaders from across the globe. “It was humbling — and it gave me strong relationships I can draw on for years to come.”
Day-to-day, simply walking through the production floor is a constant reminder of the impact his team is making.
Why SK tes Stands Out
Thomas sees SK tes as a rare blend of global reach and local agility.
“We work with some of the world’s largest organizations, yet our decisions in Australia and New Zealand have direct impact and that inspires me every day.”
Sustainability at the Core
Before joining SK tes, Thomas was unaware of the scale of the e-waste challenge, or that less than 30% of IT assets are responsibly decommissioned. Now, it’s central to his purpose.
“I’m proud of what we do, and I’m committed to contributing to our mission every day.”
