Finding Growth Through New Opportunities
I’m Jillian Wood, Senior Program Manager, Client Services at SK tes, working remotely from Olathe, Kansas.
My career path hasn’t followed a straight line, and honestly, that’s part of what has made it so rewarding. I’ve worked across several industries throughout my career, including education in financial services, corporate real estate, business analytics, project management, and operations leadership.
One of the more memorable chapters was working alongside my sister running a virtual call center operation. It was fast-moving, demanding, and full of learning experiences. After a few years in that environment, I was approached about an opportunity in the ITAD industry — a field I knew very little about at the time.
Changing industries felt like a big leap, but something about the opportunity felt right. That decision ultimately led me to SK tes, and it has become one of the most rewarding moves in my career so far.
The Part of Work I Value Most
For me, work has always been about people.
I enjoy building relationships, helping solve problems, and working alongside others toward a common goal. Whether it’s supporting clients or collaborating with colleagues internally, those interactions are what make the role enjoyable and meaningful.
What I appreciate most at SK tes is the willingness people have to support one another. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, and that creates an environment where people can genuinely do their best work.
An Environment That Encourages Development
Professional growth has always been important to me, and SK tes has been very supportive in that area.
The leadership team I work with encourages continuous learning and development, both professionally and personally. Over the past few years, I’ve had opportunities to participate in additional training that has helped strengthen my confidence, leadership skills, and overall approach to my work.
Having that kind of support makes a real difference. It creates space for people to grow while feeling trusted and encouraged along the way.
Navigating Leadership Challenges
Like many women working in traditionally male-dominated industries, one challenge I’ve experienced throughout my career has been earning credibility and being heard as a leader.
What stands out to me at SK tes is the culture of inclusion and respect. There are strong leaders across the business who genuinely value diverse perspectives and actively support women in leadership roles.
That support has helped create an environment where I feel comfortable contributing, leading, and continuing to grow professionally.
Flexibility Built on Trust
One of the things that has had the biggest impact on me personally is the flexibility that comes with working at SK tes.
Even though I’ve held remote roles before, this experience feels different because there is a genuine level of trust between leadership and employees. Success is measured by the quality of the work and the outcomes delivered, not by hours spent online.
That flexibility has allowed me to maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life while still staying fully engaged in my role. It also means I can make time for the moments that matter most, including regular Friday breakfasts with my family.

The Small Moments Matter Most
When I think about the most rewarding parts of my time at SK tes, it’s difficult to narrow it down to one specific moment.
For me, it’s often the smaller, everyday moments that stand out — building strong client relationships, getting to know colleagues on a personal level, and creating connections that go beyond day-to-day tasks.
Those experiences are what make the work feel genuinely fulfilling.
