Growth and Purpose
I’m Darío Ríos García, Business Development Manager at SK tes, based in Málaga, Spain. With a background in economics and business analysis, my career has been shaped by understanding markets, listening closely to customers, and building solutions that create long-term value.
Joining SK tes felt like a natural next step - a role where commercial growth and positive environmental impact go hand in hand.
Curiosity That Shaped My Career
I started my career at DEKRA as an Account Manager in the ITC space, working with large telecom organizations including Telefónica, Vodafone, and Orange. Early on, I learned that the most important part of any role like this isn’t talking - it’s listening. The better you understand a customer’s reality, the better the outcome for everyone.
From there, I moved to a UK-based company where I spent several years developing business across EMEA and later LATAM. We were building presence from the ground up, often navigating long sales cycles and unfamiliar markets. It was demanding, but it taught me how to stay patient, think strategically, and keep momentum even when results take time.
Before joining SK tes, I worked with a local company developing a solution to trace e-batteries across the supply chain, aligned with Battery Passport regulations and circular economy principles. That experience shifted my perspective - it showed me how technology, regulation, and sustainability can work together in very practical ways. Through that work, I came to know SK tes and the role it plays in this ecosystem.
Space to Think, Freedom to Act
What I value most in my current role is the level of trust. I have the space to explore opportunities, speak directly with senior stakeholders, and shape conversations around real customer needs rather than predefined scripts.
No two discussions are the same, and that’s what keeps the role interesting. I enjoy working across regions and cultures, learning how different markets think, and collaborating with colleagues who bring very different perspectives to the table.
Finding My Feet - Quickly
Joining a global organization like SK tes means there’s a lot to absorb in a short amount of time. The services are broad, the markets are diverse, and expectations are high - especially when you want to contribute from the outset.
What’s helped is the openness of the people around me. Questions are welcomed, support is readily available, and knowledge is shared generously. That culture has made it easier to learn fast and start adding value without feeling pressured to “have all the answers” immediately.
Moments That Confirm You’re in the Right Place
Some of the most rewarding moments so far have been early conversations with customers who clearly connect with what SK tes stands for. When discussions move beyond price or process and into trust, responsibility, and long-term impact, it’s a good reminder of why this work matters.
Even at this early stage, it’s motivating to see how our approach resonates with organizations trying to manage risk, compliance, and sustainability in a more thoughtful way.
A Way of Working That Respects Life Outside Work
Flexibility is another aspect of SK tes I genuinely appreciate. There’s trust in how you manage your time, and a clear focus on outcomes rather than hours spent online.
That balance makes it easier to stay engaged and productive without feeling like work takes over everything else.
Why SK tes Feels Different
What stands out most about SK tes is how global it is - without feeling distant. There’s a strong sense of collaboration and shared purpose, even across countries and time zones.
Sustainability isn’t treated as a slogan here. It’s embedded in the work, the conversations, and the decisions being made. For me, that alignment between personal values and professional direction is what makes this role feel like more than just the next step - it feels like the right one.
